Colección: Película Fotografía Abstracta I

Soy cazadora de imágenes. Algunas de mis fotos retratan un momento en el espacio, un trocito de realidad que cuenta una historia —la sombra de dos manos, el vuelo de una gaviota, un árbol melancólico—, y otras forman una imagen no mediante un sujeto sino utilizando texturas, contrastes, reflejos, formas, encuadres, colores y/o acercamientos extremos.

Llamo “abstractas I” a estas imágenes —que también pueden ser apreciadas a simple vista, es decir, sin una cámara de por medio—, lo cual no significa que sea fácil encontrarlas, de hecho, creo que es la mitad de la obra.

Uno de los temas que más me gusta -y he detenido el auto en los lugares más absurdos, peligrosos e imposibles- es el de los pósters de luchas o conciertos populares que pegan en las bardas y las imágenes que se forman cuando se despegan, rompen, los arrancan y/o superponen. En esta colección hay varios ejemplos de esto.

Las imágenes en esta colección fueron tomadas con una Nikon 801S, lentes Nikon y películas de diferentes sensibilidades.

Cada imagen consta de una serie de 20 impresiones en formato 16 x 20" (40 x 50 cm.), impresas profesionalmente, en papel brillante, por el mejor laboratorio fotográfico de México.

No le he puesto nombre a las imágenes —a diferencia de las fotos que he expuesto físicamente—, pero lo haré en mi blog (visita "Creaciones") cada vez que alguien solicite la primera de la serie.

I am a hunter of images. Some of my photographs are portraits of a moment in space, a piece of reality that tells a story —the shadow of two hands, a sea gull’s flight, a melancholic tree—, and others compose an image not because of the subject but by using textures, contrasts, shapes, reflections, colours, framing and/or extreme close-ups.

I call these images “abstract I” —which could also be seen by the naked eye, i.e., without a camera—, which doesn’t mean they come easily, in fact, I think that finding them is half the work.

One of the themes I like most -and I've stopped my car in the most unusual, dangerous or impossible places- is that of the "street posters" that advertise wrestling or popular concerts, and the images they produce after they come off, break up, are torn or pasted over others: There are several examples in this collection.

The photographs in this collection were taken with a Nikon 801S, Nikon lenses and film of different speeds.

Every image comes in a series of 20 prints in 16 x 20" format, professionally printed by the best photo lab in México.

I haven’t named these images —unlike the ones I’ve exhibited—, but I will either in my blog (visit “Creations”) or everytime someone orders the first in the series.
